Camp NaNoWriMo Day #17

I’ve been slacking. I still need about 21,000 more words. But hey, I reached my daily word count yesterday.

My daily word count goal keeps increasing because I haven’t been writing for about a week. That’s because I didn’t know what I was doing with this story.

At this point, I am just writing and seeing what happens, though I do have some ideas. My story will now be taking place over a much longer period of time than was originally planned.

I.E. years instead of months.

Also, I had hardly any characters, so I added in 3 new ones. I don’t often have a lot of characters in my story, which is strange, because I love characters and stories that are highly populated.

Anyway, I am not too stressed out about making my word goal or finishing my story. I have a lot of spare time on my hands in the next week or two, so I should be able to complete my goal.

Here’s to hoping.

I suppose that not really having an outline for your story can be good. After all, you are just as surprised at the plot twists as your readers.

I’m thinking that for the July Camp NaNoWriMo, I may only have a basic outline for whatever story I decide to write. Who knows? It may be easier.
