I’m a grammar freak; I’ll admit it. So it comes as no surprise to me that proper grammar actually affects your career and earnings. How do we know this?
Grammarly is a proof reading web application, a sort of ‘grammar checker’, if you will. It would be a great way to check your emails, papers, stories, and more for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
They selected 448 freelancers (4 star or higher average to get the best results) from the 8 categories of the Elance platform. Elance is an easy way to hire freelancers online. (See how it works.) They then proceeded to compare the freelancers’ earnings to how many mistakes they made in their profile.

People all have varying opinions on whether or not proper grammar is important in the grand scheme of things.
Personally, if someone doesn’t have at least tolerable grammar, I have trouble respecting their opinion.
